Dr. Hermogenes Pedro Villareal has been an active practitioner for the past 35 years, and is one of the outstanding leaders in the dental profession. Just recently, Dr. Villareal has been awarded a life-time achievement award among with a select few as TOP DENTIST OF THE CENTURY at the Rigodon Ballroom, Manila Hotel, given by the Philippine Dental Association last December 5, 2008. The award was given in recognition for dentists who gave true form and meaning to leadership and professionalism in the field of government service, administrative capabilities, legislation, international relations, the academe, dental research, dental literature, community dental service, local government service, sectoral groups and young achievers.

Together with his team of specialists who are no less than his very own family members who were all highly trained in New York University, USA, Dr. Hermogenes P. Villareal envisioned a paradigm of dental excellence held at the

highest standards and by which he takes pride on his team of specialists and staff members, the Villareal Dental Clinic, Inc., which he himself established in 1974, to deliver advance and up-to-date dental service in various dental disciplines such as Oral Implantology, Periodontology, Orthodontics, Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Pediatric, Esthetic/Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry, while extending yet the most personal approach in patient care.

Dr. Villareal oversees a practice spanning five clinics spread over Metro Manila. His laudable credentials include, Diplomate from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Fellowships from renowned international and local professional organizations such as the International College of Dentists, Pierre Fauchard Academy, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American College of Dentists, Federation Dentaire International and Philippine College of Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgeons; Honorary Fellow, Philippine Academy of Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Villareal took his residency in Implant Dentistry at the Loma Linda University, USA; Calcitek Implant Surgery and Prosthetics training course in San Diego, California, USA; and Surgical and Prosthetic Management of Implant patients at the University of the East College of Dentistry, Manila. He also attended the Post Graduate Seminar on Implant Dentistry at Centro Escolar University, College of Dentistry (November 1983 - April 1984) which was given by Dr. Eusebio M. Nazareno, founder of the Philippine Academy of Implant Dentistry (PAID) and Philippine College of Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgeons (PCOMS).

Currently, Dr. Villareal holds the prestigious position as the head representative in the Ambassador’s Circle of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Philippine section. He is also the incumbent Chairman of the Department of Dental Medicine, Asian Hospital and Medical Center, where he holds a full time practice; Incumbent Chairman of the Pierre Fauchard Academy (Philippine Section), and the Chairman, Local Organizing Committee of Asia Pacific Dental Congress in 2011. Dr. Villareal was the President of the International College of Dentists (2005-2006), (Philippine Section); Past President of the Philippine Dental Association (1992-93), the Philippine College of Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgeons (1988-91) and several other organizations where he contributed immensely in the respective organization’s credibility as core in the dental profession’s excellence and in the social concerns on dental care and advancement.

His achievements and contributions in both local and international industry did not remain unnoticed. Thus, he was given various awards for his selfless sharing of expertise in the dental profession and socio-civic involvement. No less than former President Fidel V. Ramos awarded him with the “Most Outstanding Alumnus” of the UE College of Dentistry during the school’s 50th Foundation Day in 1996. In 1998, he was honored as among “the Most Outstanding Professionals” by the Philippine Regulation Commission in 1998 “for his sincere dedication and professional competence in the specialized field of Implantology and for his untiring efforts in expanding the continuing education program for dentists through the development and implementation of a public health service for the community termed as the “Go for good oral health”; Hall of Fame Awardee by the Pasay Dental Chapter; “Most Outstanding Alumnus” of the University of the East during the school’s 60th anniversary celebration last September 29, 2006; and Awards of Merit and Distinction from the Rotary Club of Pasay, and the Philippine Dental Association in 1982-87. More than the litany of awards and accomplishments, Dr. Villareal exudes a man of character and integrity which has long been his golden trait admired by his patients, honored by his colleagues and strongly lived by his children who all followed his boundless steps in the world of dental medicine and service to humanity.
